Environmentally focused data storage

We’ve purposefully architected Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage for optimal power consumption and efficiency, maximizing the amount of data that can be stored on a disk.

We also operate many system functions across shared rather than dedicated hardware, which allows us to reduce the footprint in our data centers.

Wasabi storage regions are engineered to be incredibly efficient. Wasabi uses the maximum density possible in specialized equipment racks to reduce energy consumption, minimize CO2e footprint, and improve the storage capacity to rack footprint ratio.

Carbon Calculator

Quantify your carbon footprint

This calculator provides an estimate of the CO2e emissions for data stored in Wasabi for 365 days. The calculation is based on “actual” storage, including our redundancy technologies used to provide eleven 9s of data durability, and all components of the storage region: servers, drives, enclosures, switching, routing, and cooling.

Understanding your carbon footprint

Through our partnership with Zero Circle, we're offering new tools to help you understand your carbon footprint and make sustainable business decisions. Our Carbon Circle program gives you an ongoing, transparent, and real-time carbon footprint assessment based on your invoices. Simply upload your Wasabi invoice to Zero Circle’s carbon calculator to determine your exact CO2 footprint based on actual data stored in a Wasabi storage region.
